It never fails to amaze me how people who have never smoked can spout statistics as if smokers are all morons or that smoking has somehow taken all the common sense from us. This is not directed to anyone in particular, but I get so fed up at times when I hear or see the facts spelled out as if "we" have never heard them and need a good lesson.

Speaking for myself now, I am a smoker. I hate that I smoke and I have tried to quit so many times that it is embarrassing. I have quit quitting for the time being because I abhor failing at something so many times and it seems I am great at NOT quitting. Just a little joke there to lighten things up! LOL!

I know the stats........I know people who have had cancer and I have seen the lengthy and horrible death process from cancer. Nicotine and all the other additives in cigs are HIGHLY addictive. I DO NOT advocate smoking in any way, shape or form. I know drug addicts that have quit their drug of choice and could not kick the smoking addiction. I want to make it clear here (and sorry Lil for using this thread to do it but.....) SMOKING IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND A MAJOR ADDICTION! If it were just a bad habit I would have kicked it years ago! I am good at a lot of things but quitting smoking is the one thing I cannot conquer to date. For everyone who has the urge........preach to the people that need it the most. The young up and comings who have little or no knowledge of the side effects and potential to addiction. In a strange way I think most people that have the urge to "spell it out" for us truly think that their words will be the magical ones to spare us the horror. I know all the speaches, I have seen the outcome, I am not a stupid person (weak, apparently, but not stupid), and I have heard it ALL adnauseam. I am the happiest person on this planet to know that some of you have NEVER started.....I wish I hadn't but I did. I wish I could quit but to date I can't! Spare me.......please!!!!! I could have done something worse..........and starting a serial killing career! TY for your time...and again....Sorry Lil! I will try to get off my soap box now.

Lilith, if I ever have the good fortune of waking up next to you I would want to make you breakfast. So I'd start with splitting a nice sweet grapefruit in two, half for me, half for you. Then I'd brown some nice sausage links to go with the made-from-scratch waffles. To drink, some fresh orange juice and a pot of Starbucks Cafe Verona. For the table, a nice orchid arrangement.

Breakfast food is good anytime of the day. I usually have to be up a few hours before I eat though. :D

Two eggs over easy, Corned beef hash, hashbrowns & rye toast with raspberry preserves or orange marmalade. With a small glass of cranberry juice and fresh hot coffee.

But that's what I like at home. If I'm "cooking at your place", then don't worry about me...I'll find something to eat. :slurp:
