My dad sent me a picture this morning of a mama duck with 12(!) ducklings following her across our backyard! Unfortunately, while my dad's an awesome photographer with a 35mm camera, digital cameras he isn't so talented at (which isn't helped by the fact that his digital camera is not very good!), so you'll have to imagine the pic! :D
Hopefully dicksbro will get us some good pics of cute ducklings soon! |

The sooner he is into a digital SLR, the better. |

Our lady duck was off her nest early this morning and I got a peek (from a distance) at the eggs. Appears like there are 13 in the nest. If they all hatch, she's going to be one busy mama! Whew! |

Here are a some that I recently shot at the botanical gardens. I love it out there!

The Fan Palm looks just like home.

Nice pictures, Tess. Mrs.and I are thinking one of these days, soon, we'll have to visit Peoria's botanical gardens and the Peoria zoo with its multi-million (25 if I recall right) dollar African exhibits! When we get out there, we'll try to snap some pictures to share.

We've all seen the cartoon scene of the railway "see-saw" trolleys, but I snapped this just out of Melbourne. It's logical, but looks strange (unless you're Venetian).

Pretty in Black.
The textures and light effects are amazing. |
Loved all three pictures, OF. That handcar was need and the photo of the blackbird was really good. Amazing you got a clear enough picture to allow zooming in on the feathers.

We call them crows (different head shape to your crows), and it was feeding on my brother's back lawn, less than 10 metres.

The inset pic strongly suggests a reptilian ancestry.

Scientists have found evidence of feather anchorage points on a number of therapod bones, so perhaps. Many call birds the dinosaurs amongst us.

Brilliant simplicity! ......... But, I don't like the break system. If that accelerator were dropped toward the lead the very sudden stop would also look like a cartoon.:yikes: Perhaps a slot guide at the top of the deck? |
From everything I've ever been told of dinosaurs it more or less depended on the situation that some of the dinosaurs were in to determine what they evolved into. I believe there was an episode of Bill Nye the Science guy where he stated that both the cow and dolphin have a common ancestor if you follow their gene sequences back far enough. Then you have alligators/crocodiles which haven't changed according to scientists for something like 1,000 years (could be wrong on this just going from memory). I believe sharks also fall into a similar category as your larger lizards.
