Lakritze - the idea is a little 'summary' or update of goings on. Not everyone can log in every day, and for those that for whatever reason miss a few weeks or don't get a chance to log on as often as they'd like, a newsletter would be good for letting them know what they've missed and what's happening on the site.
I doubt it would be adding to the great site we have, but it would be a useful tool to remind people to check in, alert them to things they may have missed in the forums etc.

As for the frequency of distribution, I think monthly would probably be ok if lots of people write little bits, for eg a moderator from each forum writes a small tidbit of news from that forum or whatever, emails it through to the editor, who copies and pastes and before you know it, you've got a small but informative newsletter.

I dunno, but the idea's a good one!

I actually like the idea of a monthly newsletter. Some folks on Pixies as has been mentioned before only view one or two categories and if you do that you miss a lot of wonderful content. I think the best way to do it would be to have folks submit articles, lists, game ideas, polls...you get the idea. Then have a coupla folks go through and pick the best submissions and of course we'd need some "columns" regular articles written by the same folks every month.

I'm all for a newsletter. I have trouble getting here while I'm on campus due to the way the campus network is set up...firewalls and such. A nice newsletter would be awesome. Would it come to email or what?

I would imagine it'd be sent via email, yeah. It really only needs to be a text file, or even the body of the email - no need for flashy pics or anything, you get them at the site!
