*BUMP*...what can i say....i'm feeling nostalgic....needed a dive in the archives :D

PantyFanatic 12-30-2003 10:20 AM

PERFECT timming! :D

I thought I was starting to get the hang of that down under utter, but had one run over me the other day here that had me so befuddled, I didn’t know what to ask. lmao

I’ll be back at ya as soon as I find the dingo jargon.;)

(*now where did I put something I can’t read?:confused: )

Sharni 12-30-2003 06:23 PM

*LOL*....found it yet?

Grumble 12-30-2003 09:39 PM

what a beaut resurected thread :)

Steve Irwin does lay it on thick and he is regarded by a great percentage of the Australian population as a wanker, still he is getting wealthy at it.

A piece of slang that is fairly uniquely used in tasmania rather than the rest of the country is rummun or originally "rum one" meaning a quirky character.

i laughed at a previous post here where someone was rooting for the crocodiles. Rooting is slang for fucking in Aus so that would be a very interesting spectacle :)

SuccubusKitty 12-30-2003 11:28 PM

I think you should start throwing random thoughts at us from the Dictionary you showed us.... Please?

Educate the ignorant :D

Sharni 12-31-2003 12:47 AM

Sparrow-fart = Dawn

Fart Sack = Bed

Autumn leaf = Someone who continues to fall off something

SuccubusKitty 12-31-2003 12:55 AM

I guess that makes me an autumn leaf then....might have to use that as a nick somewhere else... :D

Lets see....This autumn leaf is getting into the fart sack until sparrow fart. I got that right? sounds awfully funny to say though.

Sharni 12-31-2003 12:57 AM

G'day = Good day

Betcha - Bet You

Gonna = Going to

Onya = On you

Bewdy = Beauty

Bitser = Mixed breed

Blimey ~ Exclamation of suprise or amazement

Catch22 12-31-2003 01:03 AM

I have never heard of any of those and I live here!

PantyFanatic 12-31-2003 01:39 AM

LMAO @ SuccubusKitty & Catch22:C

Only this year have I become familiar with one Aussie phrase that I’ll long remember. Has to do with Christmas trees and decorations.;) LMAO (right BilBo?)

Grumbleguts- Your “rummun” is a new one for me, but the best are the ones we have a total different meaning for. “Rooting” also has a hunting or looking for something meaning for us Yanks. I like yours better.;)

Loved SuccubusKitty good night sentence although “fart sack” is the same for us.:)

Sharni- ”Bitser” is totally new to me but “bawdy” means lewd or rude up-over. “Blimey” isn’t new but I believe most Americans associate it with the Britts.

Now we have to recall some of the words we have laughed about in our IM’s and get them on here.:)

(I haven’t found that Oz encryption yet. Had to find when you don’t have a clue what it was in reference too.) LOL :
