TY! Now I see where you want it. I thought you wanted it in a different place..not for each specific thread. The reason that does not occur is because the "View New Posts" are not the same for everyone. When you click on the thread, does it automatically take you to the page of the thread that you last viewed, where the new posts begin? I think that it must not be an option because it is time/ effort/ database/ server intensive. But I will snoop about some more and see what I can find out. TY for the screen shot!!!!

someone put a mute button on me

I do my stories originally in Word and use the spellchecker there....then i cut and paste them into the submit box in the story section

Just one idea

I became a helicopter expert that way. :( Every time I put in “Poll”,….. it came up with Sikorsky. ;)

No, it just takes me to the first page of that thread. It may not be possible to have that come up, but, since the actuall thread is what is put in "View New Post", I would think that it would be there also.

naughtyangel 03-11-2004 11:57 PM

We need a smiley that laughs. LOL is just so inadequate sometimes. I dunno how annoying it might be to add smilies, but every time I type lol I expect a laughing smiley to make an appearance :D

huntersgirl 04-21-2004 10:52 AM

I think it would be great if there was a way to search for posts with attachments. In other words when I search for all posts by a certain member an option of showing only posts with an attachment would be great. I don't know if it is possible, but it sure would save me a bunch of time trying to find pictures;)

jseal 04-21-2004 10:58 AM

Lilith,

If there is a way to disable non-functional controls on posts, doing so would reduce the number of mistaken clicks that can occur.

Lilith 04-21-2004 12:04 PM

Please give an example of what you consider "non-functional".

jseal 04-21-2004 01:29 PM

Lilith,

The "IP: Logged" and the "edit" links in posts.

Rather than have the server process a request and return an error, if the control is disabled the transaction can be avoided in the first case.

Lilith 04-21-2004 01:39 PM

Edit works for 120 minutes after a post and IP logged works for the people who have access to that information.

jseal 04-21-2004 02:01 PM

Lilith,

Quite true. I was referring to the edit buttons of posts by other members. Note that the edit button is in close proximity to the quote button. All posts by regular old members should be non editable by all other regular old members. If the edit button of posts made by member.name != my.member.name are disabled, and if the IP Logged link is derived similarly, then no error transactions of this form need be processed on the server.

I’m guessing of course, but as the page is dynamically generated, there may be a net reduction in I/O if the urls are not included when the member does not have the appropriate privileges. This information already exists, as it is evaluated when the link is clicked.

Lilith 04-21-2004 02:14 PM

It's there just as with IP logged, because mods and admin have access to it at all times. Would be nice if it gave me the option to make them invisible to those without access but alas it's not an option available to me.

Booger 05-24-2004 07:04 PM

is there a way you can have a thread added to story feedback autiomaticly when some one post a story and have a link with the story to it

Lilith 05-24-2004 07:11 PM

Booger~ we did have it coded that way before we changed owners but I have had no luck getting that code returned.

How about adding spell check?

Lilith 06-03-2004 08:01 AM

I'll see what I can do....

about the spell check too;)

BIGbad 06-10-2004 09:51 PM

Ok I am lazy and haven't read all the suggestions in the thread, so scold me if someone has said this already....How about a story section with photos? Would it kill the server?

Several people have responded to my thread saying that stories with pics were their favorite and it is a favorite of mine ;)

Lilith 06-10-2004 10:13 PM

illustrated stories

and we have a few stories including one I wrote and posted pics for, but I'm not sure there are enough to warrant a separate area.

BIGbad 06-10-2004 10:39 PM

ahh see I was lazy after all, thx for the tip I am heading there now......

fun_lovin_bitch 07-24-2004 05:34 AM

how about a link to the chat room from the forum - makes things easier so that you dont have to open a new window and go through the first page and everything, its just at the top of your screen. economical, too.

Lilith 07-24-2004 06:07 AM

How would that be economical?

Mackenzie 07-24-2004 09:58 AM

I know everyone wants smilies....so if you can somehow make this page compatable with Smiley Central you can have thousands of smilies...another board I post on is EXACTLY like this except when you click on advanced reply...you can use smilies from other sites. Just a suggestion!!

Lilith 07-24-2004 01:19 PM

Thanks Mackenzie, I'll look into that!

Cheyanne 07-24-2004 08:19 PM

Is there anyway, when clicking on an attachment, that it can open up in a new window? I don't know how many times I have x'ed myself out of the site LOL!!!!

If the option to do that is not available, I know that I can right click and open the attachment in a new window and all would be well, but sometimes I forget - I guess it is a matter of training myself to click on the back button!

Steph 07-24-2004 08:48 PM

Yep, it's all about the remembering, Cheyanne! :D It screwed me up the first few times but I'm used to doing it now.

Loulabelle 07-30-2004 06:54 AM

I'm just sitting here idly wondering whether we could include a 'marital status' box on our profiles.....may help to clear up misunderstandings about who's attached and unavailable and who is not.

Just a thought.

x

Steph 07-30-2004 10:52 AM

The only thing is a lot of people don't read the profiles. They see a gorgeous gal like yourself in pics & can't resist sending a PM. :D

We get a lot of email from females on my company's site complaining that guys contact them when they don't want attached men, etc.

Loulabelle 07-30-2004 03:22 PM

LOL....I love to receive PMs paying me a compliment, but sometimes I feel a bit shy that the first words I reply with are strongly hinting that I'm attached and that while I love to flirt and be paid a compliment, I'm not interested in any kind of online sex.

That always seems a bit presumptious and stand-offish to me, which makes me a little uncomfortable.

Of course the other side of the coin is the fact that I think singles should be able to identify other singles easily here as well.....after all when I first PMed Fussy just for a friendly chat, I believed him to be married with children! Thankfully he soon put me straight on that. :D

Steph 07-31-2004 12:24 AM

LOL Lou, I did not know you thought he was married! :D

I have thought about adding "no married men, please" to my profile but I do have friends here who are married . . . I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but also don't want to be hit on by married men, hence my dilemma.

PantyFanatic 07-31-2004 12:55 AM

It'll be fine as long as SOMEBODY can HIT on you. ....... with something BIG!

Lilith 07-31-2004 09:20 AM

ok try that...

PantyFanatic 08-02-2004 09:32 AM

Lilith-
Did I mention to you that adding a SHOUT BOX would be a good idea?

Steph 08-02-2004 10:34 AM

Could you beat the dead horse any more?

Mackenzie 08-02-2004 11:36 AM

This is just a guess....but I'm going to say...YES HE CAN! LOL!

cowgirltease 08-18-2004 10:31 AM

Sure would love to see the paper clips back in action. Seems I'm missing lots of new pics being added to old threads unless I go thru every page. :(

Lilith 08-18-2004 12:04 PM

CGT...you just hit on the one thing I miss the most too. I'll see what I can do.
