The bull shark is renowned as a killer, a river and canal dweller.

gekkogecko 01-12-2011 11:40 AM

Maybe, but the flooding itself has killed more than that bull shark has.

Oldfart 01-12-2011 07:18 PM

Without doubt. The shark's just another risk for the rescue workers.

Fangtasia 01-12-2011 08:51 PM

Bull sharks are notorious for attacking people. nasty pieces of work. Bad enough what people/rescuers/etc are dealing with without adding sharks (and i heard the was a croc floating around too) into the equation

Army/police should have permission to shoot looters on sight as far as i'm concerned, low life bastards. Although i did like the mayor of Ipswich's suggestion of using them as flood markers!

The death toll is rising, now at 13 and predicted to go higher :(

Oldfart 01-12-2011 09:05 PM

Just need to be careful we don't shoot someone checking on their mum's place, or indeed, other looter hunting squads.

Lord Snow 01-12-2011 10:18 PM

Sharks are cool though. Hopefully it doesn't have the opportunity to get into trouble. In my opinion crocs and gators are worse than sharks. Most sharks take a bite and swim off. Crocs and gators get a hold of you and take you down for a death roll. There's not much of a chance to survive that.

Oldfart 01-12-2011 11:05 PM

Poor Brazil's copping it worse at the moment, 250+ dead so far in floods and mudslides.

Fangtasia 01-12-2011 11:10 PM

Some of these bullsharks, it would only take one bite to kill. Bullsharks are aggressive and i highly doubt they take one nibble, they have certainly killed before. Regardless its just another thing the people of the area dont need!

I think i'd rather the croc actually, least it will kill you fairly quickly. Being bitten significantly by a shark, floating in filthy flood waters when you have no idea how long til rescue would be horrid. The blood would attract more said sharks in the vicinity also

Oz is worse. I don't have friends in Brazil.

Ya' get the feeling the world is going bonkers. California rains and mudslides; New England snowfalls; Australian and Brazilian rains; and, who knows what else. :spin:

What was that song ... "Stop the World, I Want to Get Off."

Lord Snow 01-13-2011 06:27 AM

I'd rather sayF*ck The World

Oldfart 01-15-2011 08:12 AM

Has Bilbo made it back to Hobbitsville yet?

Lord Snow 01-15-2011 09:05 AM

It would be Hobbiton Oldfart.

Fangtasia 01-15-2011 09:43 PM

Yeah he got back Thursday...came back through Cunninghams Gap (1 lane disappeared though)

dicksbro 01-16-2011 03:46 AM

Glad to hear that, Fangtasia. Now, if the country can just get dried out a bit and let people start to put their lives back together. We'll keep up the good wishes and prayers!
