I love John Mayer!

He's on the radio right now. The boy is a liquid dream.

No, John - YOUR body is a Wonderland!!!

Sharni 04-26-2003 01:02 AM

I must lead a sheltered life....who is he?

Steph 04-26-2003 01:35 AM

Your life in NOT sheltered. Your wonderful country/continent just hasn't been exposed to his folk croonings. He sings "Your body is a wonderland" . . . was just on the Grammies . . . he's in his early 20s. Wonderful guitar player, SWEET looking young thing who sings about sex in a way you know he means it.

I'm feeling faint. I digress!

Sharni 04-26-2003 01:40 AM

Damn...sounds like i'm missing something good!! :fly:

He's a favorite at this house, too. My daughter introduced me to his music. We've got everything he's put out so far, and she has been to 4 of his concerts here and around the country. He'll be here again 7/24, and she already has her ticket. She's a member of his fan club and takes it very seriously. :D And she's constantly changing our screen saver to one pix or another of him. She was very upset that at the Grammy's he didn't get Best New Vocalist, or whatever it's called. I do like Wonderland, but my favorite is 3X5 (3X5s?). Well, really, I don't think he has a song I don't care for, but I think his best CD is Room for Squares.

Neige 04-26-2003 05:50 AM

I thought he was 16... that's what he said at the Grammys anyway :)

Lilith 04-26-2003 07:10 AM

When I see him I am always amazed that voice is coming from him, not to mention the mature content of his songs. Didn't he do that class reunion song "No Such Thing" as well?

BlueSwede 04-26-2003 07:15 AM

Yes, he did. Some kind soul posted the lyrics in your thread in this forum devoted to songs that people like to sing.

quisath 04-26-2003 10:24 AM

Yep..........my Daughter swoons for the youngster. He does have Talent though I must admitt.

He did say that at the Grammys - he was just being a goof, I think. His official Web site has him at 24 or so.

Lilith 10-19-2003 05:13 PM

I saw him alone but have a friend who saw him both, alone and with Joel. She said the duo concert was amazing.

only seen him alone once but 3 times with Joel

BigBear57 10-19-2003 08:04 PM

I picked up his CD today... then I put it back and bought the new Nickleback. LOL

Eros 10-19-2003 09:04 PM

Mayer's new one "Heavier Things" is just flat out awful compared to "Room For Squares" (just my opinion) Both are good CD's but "Room For Squares" was so good it had me expecting more on the next album and he didn't deliver.

PS..Big Bear...good choice..the new Nickelback kicks ass!

babybunny 10-20-2003 11:40 AM

Mmmm John Mayer...yummy.. :slurp:

Steph 09-17-2006 11:26 PM

My God, it's been three years of me lusting after him & I finally saw him in person. For free. I'm a cougar for him.

This song made me cry:

He's too sweet

FallenAngel5 09-18-2006 07:59 AM

I used to be against John Mayer, for while I thought he was a fantastic musician, I felt that he was too 'pop'py.

That being said, I really loved his new single before I knew it was him, and now I have a newfound respect. That and I read the article about him in the current Rolling Stone, but that's beside the point. I really like the jazz-y, soul-y sound that he has now.

treeview 09-18-2006 08:52 AM

'Your Body is a Wonderland'...well, actually, the whole album, needs to be playing softly in the background when the candles are lit, wine is poured and the sheets are turned back...care to join me?

scotzoidman 09-18-2006 12:35 PM

Thursday night, at the end of CSI, they ran a preview of the season opener, with Meyer's new song playing thru out...apparently he may well be on the show come next Thursday...& I'm sorry the title of his new one escapes me at the moment, but it is a kickass song, with a much more hard edge sound than his "Room For Squares" days...may be just what the folks who thought he was too "pop" were looking for...
