Over or Under

Another radio station survey question....

Do you have a preference on how you hang your toilet paper roll ... do you hang it so it goes over the top, or rolls under?????

I usually like it going over the top .... days working as a hotel maid during summers when I was a college student ..... that pointed arrow thing you do with the paper at the top .... I guess it conditioned me ... anyway, do you have a preference???

MilkToast 10-01-2003 08:00 PM

under! it HAS to be under... no idea why... but it MUST be that way... everything else is just wrong :)

Sharni 10-01-2003 08:00 PM

Always over the top...its the cleaner in me...conditioned here too :D:D

BigBear57 10-01-2003 08:03 PM

Over here too

Cheyanne 10-01-2003 08:21 PM

I prefer it over... everyone else here does not seem to care.

(Actually, I get to the point that I really don't care anymore......I am just thankful that when one of the kids use the last of the roll they replace it rather than just setting the roll on top)

PantyFanatic 10-01-2003 08:28 PM

over! it HAS to be over... no idea why... but it MUST be that way... everything else is just wrong.:(

LOL not really.;) I do normally put it over, but my world wouldn't stop if it was under.:D

Lilith 10-01-2003 09:06 PM

You mean people hang it?:D

lexi 10-01-2003 09:28 PM

I used to believe under was the only way. Then I looked at the pattern on the paper towels and realized i'd been hanging both t-paper and p-towels wrong for years. OVER it is at our house.

Steph 10-02-2003 12:14 AM

I also cleaned rooms at a hotel and did the arrow thing, fzzy! It's always over here, too!

GingerV 10-02-2003 03:03 AM

So long as it's replaced when empty, I honestly couldn't care less. In fact, I don't even know which way it's hung at the moment.

dicksbro 10-02-2003 04:28 AM

I'm with you GingerV. I hate to be in the position of having to yell ... "HONEY! COULD YOU BRING ME SOME TOILET PAPER!!!" There's just no romance in that. :)

Sugarsprinkles 10-02-2003 04:54 AM

Definitely OVER!!! Just look at the way the pattern (if any) is printed to be visible...........it HAS to go over the top!!

(that is whenever anyone actually hangs the damn thing :D )

FussyPucker 10-02-2003 07:15 AM

woo hoo at last someone has brought up this very important question!
I have always said it's OVER but little loulabelle puts it under!
I'm winning this battle when I go to visit her because I always make sure it's OVER and she's stopped turning it back :D:D

skipthisone 10-02-2003 08:05 AM

Under just doesnt work for me...gotta be over, the natural stroke of the hand is downward, thus spinning it into your hand.

nikki1979 10-02-2003 08:07 AM

i put it over when i replace it , but im not anal on it and wont have a fit if hubby puts it up wrong

campingboy 10-02-2003 08:26 AM

I asked a group of friends that were sitting around th efire last night.

Top issues concerning Toilet Paper
1) That it is there
2) That it does not resemble something like sandpaper or wax paper.
3) That you don't have to collect the the TP before entering.
4) That used toilet paper is no where to be seen or smelt.
5) that it is not wet from the shower the person before you just had.

I personally have found that it works equally well taken from either the top or the bottem.

WildIrish 10-02-2003 09:10 AM

I've always put it over in the past. With the ends folded nicely to a point, like an envelope. Marriage changed that.

With the birth of our first child, it became necessary to hang it so that it drapes under, so when he came along and spun the holy hell out of it the entire roll wouldn't empty into a two foot high pile on the floor.

Now that we have three children...it's either on the window sill, the countertop, the shelf across the way, or my favorite place...the back of the toilet, where one has to treat the toilet seat like a sit & spin just to reach the damn thing!

darogle 10-02-2003 09:37 AM

Just so long as it is within reach, that's all I care about....

Lovediva 10-02-2003 12:10 PM

You guys use TP??????

We are still using leaves here....LOL

Over here! :D

babybunny 10-02-2003 03:13 PM

Over...the prob with it being under it can too easily be spun down too much and touch the floor!

seriousfun 10-02-2003 03:18 PM

Over!

If it's under, you sometimes have to touch the wall or holder behind the TP...creepy.

Scarecrow 10-02-2003 06:05 PM

As the commercial rollers are made to be over, it is a habbit to put it over

LixyChick 10-02-2003 08:14 PM

I put it over......he puts it under...and I put it over when I see he's put it under! He does the opposite of nearly everything I do......folding clothes (he folds t-shirts with the front in...I fold them out).....putting trash bags in the can (he just puts one in there and doesn't snap it open....I open it so the first things you put in don't bounce out).....oh I could go on and on......but I digress.

If I try and tolerate an "under" TP roll...and just go with the flow.....I get more paper than I really need and I feel wasteful.......if I put it over.....I can stop it at as many squares as necessary to do the job! But.....that might be a little TMI....huh?

axe31 10-03-2003 03:11 PM

over or under? i dont know just one min.

axe31 10-03-2003 03:15 PM

Amaranthine 10-04-2003 06:20 PM

I really don't care either way.
