Something important is happening in Cleveland, USA, this week and while I’m able to literally sneak in to a couple presentations, it will be culminated with a talk on Monday evening. I just got a call that said I MAY be able to get the pass I’ve been working on for 2 months. I’m afraid to say it out loud and jinks the deal.

If this happens,….. it WILL go into my book of life notables and you may never hear the end of it.:D lol

No Steph, it’s NOT that Ringling Bros. & Barnum Bailey is coming to town and I’ll be able to visit with the family.

It’s Stevie weekend at my house.:) LOL

All of us have subjects that catch our interest and a couple people that make us stand in astonishment. Thousands of people from around the world jam Vatican Square each week to feel they were in the presents of somebody extraordinary. Your ultimate inspiration may be a head of state or entertainer or sport idol or whatever. Mine is giving a talk on Monday at a lesser-known, but heavy-hitting, local university.

Tonight, I AM going to be present at the kickoff of Stevie Weekend here and hear what Steven Weinberg [http://www.nobel.se/physics/laureat...rg-autobio.html] thinks about it all. (and I do mean ALL ;) ) The talk that I just want to sit back in my rocker someday and know that I was at will be given Monday evening by Steven Hawking. This may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but I can’t believe that it is happening in my back yard and that I just happened to have worked with some people that can possibly get ME access to such an event. It’s a BIGGIE in my book.:D

If there does happen to be any NPR (National Public Radio) fans of Science Friday, in our Pixie Village, it will be broadcast live from this conference tomorrow. (And I’ve managed to trick my way into this too.;) )

Now that I’ve jinxed my chance of getting to the talk on Monday by saying it out loud, maybe I’ll see if I can get those tickets to the circus.:bday:

The tickets were priced at $30, $60 and $150 (concert hall boxes), but mine didn’t cost me a dime.:D (only some future lunches;) ) It wasn’t a case of price for ANYBODY I don’t believe. It was STRICTLY availability. I don’t know at what price I would have declined. Everybody had to know somebody. Students actually were the only people to have them available if they wanted them. (the only ones that couldn’t afford them:( )

I’m honestly still dazed from it all.:spin: I’d love to be able to relate the MANY aspects of what I experienced last night to every person on the planet, but I fumble for words in the norm. I truly left with a buzz, ….. and I’m still a little high from it all.

I AM a bit torn with an awareness of how my Pixies family politely accepted my (certainly out of pixie-mode) posting this thread in the first place when I became over whelmed with just the possible anticipation of this happening, and the fact that my capacity to comprehend the information and event is almost as limited as my ability to relate it. LOL

Tonight I have to do my jazz gig and will mull over how to even begin to convey it all.

I can at this time, tell you this.

I meekly believe that only because of my long and deep personal interest in this subject, that I have a tiny bit more meaningful concept of the VASTNESS of it all than the normal guy that doesn’t waste time pondering such matters...... Well last night it got :BIGGER.:eek:

PF, it doesn't matter if you defined your thread as "out of pixie mode"!!! We all care deeply about you very much, and the fact that you felt so HAPPY and EXCITED about attending this seminar and decided to share those emotions with us is your way of showing us how much YOU care about us!!!! We were (and are) happy and excited for you!!!
