Seattle or Pittsburg this year?

Take your pick.

Aqua 01-23-2006 11:22 AM

This fairweather fan that knows only the basics of the game (and also NEVER thought the Hawks would ever make it to the SuperBowl) is really thinking they can pull it off.

Go Seahawks! :D

jseal 01-23-2006 11:29 AM

gekkogecko,

I pick Pittsburg.

Coaster 01-23-2006 11:46 AM

I know nothing of sports, but know that hubby is rootin' for pittsburg

Lilith 01-23-2006 07:01 PM

I root for the Packers, the Cards, or the Gators. If they are not playing then it's all moot.

Steph 01-23-2006 08:11 PM

I thought gekko was gathering suggestions for a family vacation. Yep, I don't follow football too much, either.

Damn, we gotta work on your taste in teams....especially that last one.

;)

Oh yeah...my gut is telling me Seattle.

fredchabotnick 01-23-2006 09:54 PM

I've got to go with the Steelers. They've looked impressive these last three games.

RangerGuy20 01-23-2006 10:23 PM

its going to be a close game, both teams are playing pretty good. I would have to pick the Steelers, i think they want it more.

lizzardbits 01-24-2006 03:10 AM

"Touchdown Steelers!" was slang in my household, whilst i was growning up, that ment something good happened..........so in keeping with the family tradition...........

TOUCHDOWN STEELERS!!!!!!

Better change those colors...they're wearing "away" jerseys. :D

And I'm a Packer fan as well, but if I had to choose between the two then I would say Pittsburgh.

But only because I have inside information on their nutritional intake. ;)

Debbie_007 01-25-2006 06:13 PM

How fattening is Duck poody?

wyndhy 01-26-2006 03:46 PM

:D:D

gekkogecko 01-27-2006 10:26 AM

It's gotta be teh Pittsburgh Steelers.

scotzoidman 01-29-2006 02:06 AM

Much as I would not mind seeing the Seahawks play the Cinderella role their first time at the Ball, seeing the Steelers take aprt the high-power offences of 2 very good teams (including Saint Peyton, as he's often known around east TN), I'd hafta put my $$$ on Pittsburg, if I was so inclined to bet...

...& Aqua, I know 'xactly how ya feel about wanting your homeboys go all the way, I felt the same about seeing the Titans come up a yard short a few short years back...

1nutworld 01-30-2006 04:29 PM

I think you've gotta believe the Steelers are gonna ride home-town legend "the BUS" Jerome Bettis to a career ending victory in Detroit.

Seattle's a VERY good team and I honestly hope nobody believes it will be a cake-walk, but no team has done what the Steelers have in getting to the Super Bowl, and I just think they are too balanced and dangerous to be stopped.

Come back next year Seattle, you've got the team to do it, but just not this season

jbh3 01-30-2006 04:37 PM

Steelers, no doubt.I've been a Steelers fan since 1984 when that asshole Irsay took my Colts to Indy.BTW...kiss my ass Peyton.

Seriously,I think the pressure will undo Seattle in the end. They have never been to a Superbowl and the high expectations from their fans must be an enormous drain on them mentally.Physically,as far as talent goes,I think it could go either way.

Aqua 01-30-2006 05:48 PM

True, the Hawks as a team have never been to the 'Bowl, but as individuals they have six players, I believe, that have been to the big game on other teams. The Steelers, from what I have heard, have only one.

I don't think pressure will be a factor.

Aqua 01-30-2006 07:52 PM

Correction, the 'Hawks have five players with 'Bowl experience.

wrestlemark 01-31-2006 09:37 AM

mike holmgrin..............

coaches seattle all you packer fans hes been there before,,,,,,,,,,,,,,me i'm picking pittburgh steelers ;) :D

I don't think it will be a factor in the usual sense either, i.e., I don't think Holmgren will let his team choke...but I still think Pittsburg has just been too dominating in the playoffs so far...the 'Hawks are a great team offensively, but they can't score points if the Steelers won't even let them SEE the ball until the 3rd quarter, which is what has happened to their last 2 opponents...

Aqua 01-31-2006 05:01 PM

The Steelers have certainly dominated the playoffs and the Hawks are very strong offensively, but it seems that no one wants to admit the Seahawks have a strong defense too. They practically held the Panthers to a standstill in the NFC championship game. Although I have heard that the Steelers 3-4 defense will likely give the Hawks some trouble.

maddy 01-31-2006 07:29 PM

Just because I think Holmgren is a near genius... I'm rooting for Seattle this go 'round.

maddy 01-31-2006 07:33 PM

oh and ... umm go Pack ... there's always next year ... :)

maddy 02-05-2006 10:04 PM

I wanted it to be an NFC win ... alas, Congrats Steelers.

PantyFanatic 02-05-2006 10:25 PM

So that means it's over this year, right?

I think the groundhog saw his shadow a few days ago and now you have 6 more weeks of basketball. :D

I owe 12 boys candy bars.

scotzoidman 02-06-2006 01:21 AM

...& afterward, Bettis made it official..."the Bus stops here"...

Aqua 02-06-2006 12:04 PM

The real MVPs of that game are the officiating staff who handed the win to the Pittsburgh.

jbh3 02-06-2006 12:19 PM

ya want some cheese to go with that wine

I wondered if it was just me that thought the entire officiating staff was paid off by Bettis. 3 major penalties that were bad calls and were upheld on the field ensured that the 'Hawks would lose.
