my girlfriend is on the pill. she occasionally not even once a month forgets one. we hardly ever fool around without a condom even though shes on the pill. we did 2-3 weeks ago but i did not cum in her. she was suppose to start her period 4-5 days ago and still hasn't! could she be pregnant?

sure she could, nothing except abstinence and certain surgeries is 100% effective, but i wouldn't panic just yet. she's not that late.

Could she be pregnant? Yes, as was pointed out above the only way to be 100% sure not to get pregnant is to abstain.

Is she pregnant? Probably not, there are lots of things that can cause a late period, and one of those things is stress. I can't begin to tell you the number of female friends I have that have had unprotected sex then worried themselves out of a period the next month.

If she consistently misses a pill why not switch to something else, such as the patch or the shot?

no she hasn't been worried about foolin around. i have been with her two years and not once has she been late....its always down to the day. we have done it before and she was worried like hell then but she still had it.oh and im not scared....i would love to be a father. and she would be a great mother. at the point in our lives, we are stable and have our own house and our vehicles are paid for. i am excited about it. she is just worried about her parents cause they r old fashioned and we aren;t married

Her parents will have to accept sometime that their little girl's becoming a big grown-up mum.

It may not be their best scenario, it does not have to be their best scenario, it just needs to be right for you.

yes she can be just because she is on the pill doesn't mean anything. The pill is only 98% affective, I know this as my gf has been on the pill and she has fallen pregnant... And make sure that she goes and get's tested at the doctor's.... Good Luck!

Even thou she has come down to the day as you say.......her body changes and that is one thing that can change too. For piece of mind, buy a home test.

Parents will get over the fact that you are not married, especially after they see a beautiful Grandchild. :)

To ease the worry in the future, tell her not to miss A DAY of taking the pill. If she does, always use condoms.

Having a house and cars paid off is one thing, being ready for the commitment of a child is another.

That may be... however, they are NOT safe forms for contracting an STD!!!!

I didn't say they were, nor presumed they would safe gaurd against STD's. I believe the topic was pregnancy.

but i must disagree just a little with the anal route: although extremely rare, there have been cases where semen has been ejaculated near the opening of the vagina and the woman has become pregnant. it's entirely within the realm of possibility that semen could contact the vagina during anal.

Forgive me for straying from the topic. I know that the thread is about pregnancy. Just as I knew you did. :D The reason I responded the way I did was just a reminder... many of our sexually active young adults/teens only think about pregnancy and not STDs. I was reminded of a conversation I had with one of our students - she was recently diagnosed with an STD of the throat... she was trying to avoid pregnancy. She is a senior, age 18, and legal to be a member of a board like this...I didn't want someone taking what you were saying the wrong way. Sorry if I offended...
