I know what it is!

You are going to become a mainline distributor and you're getting your own frogs, right? :truce:

sodaklostsoul 07-29-2006 11:41 PM

scotzoidman 07-30-2006 12:06 AM

Just thought I'd mention that there are 17 different ways to pronounce "Axolotyl"....all of them incorrect...

Alassė,

Cute! How often do they feed?

Fangtasia 07-30-2006 05:42 AM

They have food (and naturally water) available all the time

I just cut up and put in some carrot....they sneak out grab a piece and run back into their tunnels *LOL*...you can hear them munching away

They are in my bedroom at present so there will be no midnight feeding of carrots or noisy food *LOL*...We will see how noisy they get as to wether they stay in the bedroom or get moved to the loungeroom *L*

They are still youngsters and being girls are very active (understatement...can ya say hyper *LOL*)

Never really thought i'd have rats....but gee they are sooo cute to watch and interact with

They are in a old fish tank (big crack in the bottom) but i'm (Bilbo :D) planning to build a grotto (converted wardrobe or from scratch) for them.

I want them to be happy rats *LOL*

*Bilbo is still not to sure...needs more convincing thats they are cute i think*

If my Gizmo even thinks about touching my ratties there will be hell to pay!!...she WILL learn this is not acceptable

Lilith 07-30-2006 08:17 AM

They are cute. I have had my fill of pet rodents at my house.

I am trying to find a pet for school still but it has to be something indestructible.

Cockroaches...the only thing that can withstand a nuclear blast. But maybe not a bunch of kids... LOL

What about a snake? They're pretty durable...

Pita 07-30-2006 11:54 AM

 Congrats on your new babies. :)

LixyChick 07-31-2006 04:23 AM

Awwwww...they are cute!

Do I understand correctly that you are going to use a wooden wardrobe converted to house the newbies? That might not be such a good idea Alasse. Rats can chew through wood...can't they?

dicksbro 07-31-2006 04:47 AM

They are cute Sharni. Yer' gettin' quite a collection!

Yep you understand correctly

Wooden cages are fine as long as there is nowhere they can get a grip to chew...they tend not to start chewing flat areas...as they are not wild rats they'd need to be something shocking bored to contemplate that

The wardrobe would be made of melamine (for ease of cleaning...pee soaks into wood)...4 - 6 levels of ratty fun

Dapper Rat cages
