New Pup
 

Well, I was going to put these in my "New Camera" thread but, as she isn't mine, I thought a new thread would be in order.......



..... "she" is a Springer Spaniel X Border Collie called Ellie. We went to see her for (and with) a friend on friday night and, well, they wouldn't (or couldn't?) leave her there.

Oh DM, I don't think cute gives her all the credit she deserves.

How could you not just want to pick her up and cuddle her? Oh my god, those paws are absolutely huge!

She's gorgeous, but her friend will have his/her work cut out.....Spaniel/Border Collie cross....that's going to be one bright and energetic dog!!!!!!

Those first two pics though...she looked so sad! The next, when she was bounding in the grass, lightened my heart!

It's totally understandable why she had to be had!!!!!

Lou ~ thankfully, her new "mum" loves to walk and, living where she does, has lots of long and interesting places to go right on her doorstep!

Lixy ~ y'know, lots of people say that about Riley too - but you'll never meet a happier dog! I guess it must be the breed or the setting or something!!

Sodak ~ She really is, isn't she?!?! Got a call from "mum" last night to say all is well, and she's booked in for her first lot of injections and stuff a week today. Still as cheeky apparently!!

Have Bodie and Riley met Ellie yet?

Yes, they have. Bodie was rather "aloof yet protective" of her to start - he doesn't have a good track record with other dogs, unfortunately, (he does tend to want to eat them, rather!) but he seemed to recognise she is just a pup and thus no threat. Riley, natch, just wanted to play!!

We're going up for an overnight on wednesday, so it'll be interesting to see any changes!

Ah......... well, actually I don't sweetie!! But she isn't mine/ours remember - she lives with her new mum 65 miles away!! Sorry and all that. ;)

For IowaMan (and anyone else who wanted to see more of Ellie), these were taken a few days before Halloween - yep, it really is that long since we've been up! Surprised me a bit, but that's what "9-5" working does to you after 20 years of shifts!!

Moving on...of these four, you can see a couple of little bits of my daughter (yes, she wanted to bring Ellie home!)

Last four.

In one of these ones (3rd one IIRC), you'll see her playing with her "dad". He's about 5'8" or so, to give you all an idea of her size.

She is soooooo cute!!!!!

Well, we were up to see li'l Ellie last weekend. Seems her 'mum' was having a few problems with her, but turns out to be nothing much more than usual puppy "testing". I hadn't realised that 'mum' has never reared a dog from pup before....... could be interesting,to say the least! Hopefully, yhe pointers we've given her will help her out!

Anyway, we took Ellie out to the woods we usually go to, along with our two - they got on very well, and despite a dying camera battery (Doh!) I managed to get a few pics. Sadly, some are out of focus - simply because they were moving too damn fast!!

Final three.

It occurred that in one or two of these it looks as if one or other of our dogs may be trying to bite or nip Ellie - not so. I promise, they all enjoyed themselves and had a great, friendly time!

H was on the phone to A, Ellies 'mum', yesterday. A and her partner S have had what could best be described as tumultuous relationship since they got together (a long, sad story I won't bore you with here) which has now resulted in him (S) not having gone home since we were up last weekend.

A is now at the end of her tether, obviously really upset etc., which is tranferring to Ellie with predictable results. A says she will give the situation 2 weeks to be resolved, one way or another, and if S doesn't come back, she feels unable to deal with Eliie on a long-term basis.

So, unless things pick up very substantially over the next week or two, these could well be the last pics you'll see of Ellie.

You can only imagine how distraught we feel for Ellie - but sadly, there is no way we can manage another dog here, so it's thinking caps on, folks!

Hi folks. Well, things are moving on once again. S has now definitely moved out, and for good this time (we hope!) A is in the process of redecorating, and is POSITIVELY keeping Ellie... hooray!! :D

So, here are a couple more of her, taken last weekend (as you'll see!) on my Samsung compact - not as good quality as usual, I'm afraid.
