American Pixies-Register to Vote

Please. Pretty please with me on top :D

In my state the deadline to register is fast approaching, October 6th.

While you may be disgusted with our current system, it's the one we have to work with. Not voting does not send a message. Only by voting and having your say in the process can you hope to make the changes you want to see.

In my state it was the case for so long that convicted felons could never vote again. Many had never ever had the opportunity you have.

Remember you can vote on whichever races, ammendments etc. you choose. If you get involved in the process early enough next time you can actually effect the choices we are given in the end.

Register- then you can at least vote if you choose to.

jseal 09-28-2008 11:46 AM

Absolutely, and unequivocally yes. Do it before it is too late.

gekkogecko 09-28-2008 12:19 PM

Not only am I registered to vote, but I'm also an election judge in my state. Yes, you may be officially afraid.

Lilith 09-28-2008 12:20 PM

I wish I could volunteer to work at the polls. I used to help out the Kid's Vote while I was in college and had the time.

PantyFanatic 09-28-2008 02:58 PM

OH NO! Why should I vote for them. I'm not giving up my right to bitch! YOU are the ones that are going to be responsible.
Every time they fuck us you'll want to blame me if I vote. :doorpeek:

PantyFanatic 09-28-2008 03:07 PM

:roflmao:

Actually I do like the George Carlin logic ^^^, but we DO have to give the system every chance to work as it is suppose to.

(We can discuss how and why it's hijacking could not be stopped in another thread  )

If you don't participate in the democratic process, you hand the keys to your chains to the establishment.

Lilith 09-28-2008 04:32 PM

OK now I change my mind. Don't register or vote just hand over the keys to me. *jangles her key ring*

But, but Lil, I'm already registered. Does this mean that in order to qualify for the special treat, I've got to find another district in which to register? :p

PantyFanatic 09-28-2008 07:24 PM

Why not? You're not that far from Chicago.

("vote early,... vote often")

What if you live in a state that is so blantantly biased in a given direction that your vote won't mean shit?

Lilith 09-28-2008 08:14 PM

Vote anyway. I do.

osuche 09-28-2008 08:26 PM

Me too.

Never underestimate the power of large numbers of protest votes.

I too, live in a state that hasn't voted my way in a generation. I still consider it my right & duty to swim upstream.

Scarecrow 09-29-2008 12:33 AM

Keys, what keys? Oh do you mean the ones hanging at the bottom of my Brass Plaque. By the way with that kind of money to redecorate can I have a Silver or Gold Plaque?????

dicksbro 09-29-2008 03:59 AM

There seems to be one constant in our elections ...

whoever wins ...

we're screwed. :(

rabbit,

I am convinced that the only meaningless votes are are the ones which are not cast. By voting for your candidate, you make the other one and the system in general, work.

lakritze 09-29-2008 10:04 AM

I've been registered to vote since 1970. Important to exercise your right to vote. But more so,very important to never let any S.O.Bs try to take away your right to. And watch out for those chads. Especially the pregnant ones. Vote for the OBAMA of your choice.

lizzardbits 09-30-2008 12:36 PM

Mistress Lil, not only am I registered, but my absentee/overseas vote is in the mail on its way back to Iowa!

I tell ya, it feels good to have done it! In a way it makes up for missing out on the 4th of July back in the States this year. I feel very patriotic :D

BIBI 09-30-2008 06:09 PM

I am not voting for him or him
