Be Quiet!!!!!
I'm trying to listen to my blood flow
|
It would be interesting to try the room.
|
I'd give it a go! As long as the lights are on! lol
|
And you didn't have chili for dinner.
|
:doorpeek: you'd be scared
|
I've read of the immersion tanks for sensory deprivation. At least here you can twiddle your appendages.
|
But then 1 tiny cricket gets in the room and that'll drive you crazy too.
|
Think of it .. you're listening to your blood flow .. and suddenly you don't hear it anymore. :yikes:
:faint: |
Be still my beating heart.
|
Um, if the room is in fact, maddening, there's a strong possibility I spent 46 minutes in there, and forgot about it.
|
I need one of them rooms at work. Just five minutes of peace and quiet without the yacking of my fellow co-workers bitching about the lack of customers. HEAVEN!!
|
Control may be hiring out the "Cone of Silence".
|
What?
|
:)
|
It's a Get Smart reference GG. I've seen the movie with Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, and Dwayne Johnson.

The Don Adams TV series was in my mind when I said it. The Steve Carell movie was an homage to the series. |
Right, Chief. :)
Would you believe I made up that reply all by myself? No? Then, would you believe I had only a couple of folks helping me? No? Then how about I had to hire a crew of screen writers? |
The old "crew of screenwriters" trick, eh?
That's the third time I've fallen for it this month. |
Oldfart, I have no been fortunate enough to see the tv show. The movie wasn't to bad, though I'm generally not fond of Steve Carell.

Oh, I am entirely aware of the reference. I used to watch teh original series: the point is, that every time Agent 86 & the Chief tried to use it, everybody outside the cone of silence could hear (although there was inevitably no-one "outside" the Cone of Silence in the Chief's office: but every time one of them tried to say something, the answer from the other was , "What?". |
It's a little like trying to explain to kids a world before recordable TV, or even ((shudder)) colour TV.
|
I've watched black and white movies. My mom is a Shirley Temple fan.
GG, I was unaware of the running gag from the series. They didn't use it in the movie. They did use the cone of silence, just not the "what" part of it. |

Though, I am much too young to have seen them in their first run state, I am a fan of the ORIGINAL Get Smart Series with Don Adams & Barbara Feldon. I have seen the movie as well. |

They watch a show on Nick At Nite and find it incredible that you saw the show when it first came out. One young neighbor said to me, "you must've had fun in the olden days. |
Isn't that where we smile mysteriously and say "Yep"?
|
Except when those conversations may you feel ancient.
My assistant never saw the movie "Dragnet"...much less the tv show! |
Quote:
That is another one I liked watching..Dragnet! I had the ending voice overs memorized. |
It's a strong cultural comment that TV shows that were mostly serious have been "covered" as comedies. They just don't take us seriously.
|
I've never seen Dragnet. I've heard of it though.
|
I've read about those shows in my history book. Just the facts mam.
|
Quote:
History book! lol, PF if you were any longer in the tooth it would be scraping the ground as you walked...... :p |
I wasn't going to say anything like that BIBI. I was going to be nice. :)

Yes Molly. :o
(and I listened to them on the radio) |
Quote:
I have only heard of them....MUCH too young to have heard them on the radio or see them on the TV :kisser: |
Me too, I just had an very old radio
|
Say good night, Gracie. :faint:
