Real Pixies Place meetings
 

I know that we are too far around the world to have one meeting, but another thread has got me to thinking..... scary.

Who besides me would be willing to host such a party?
Who among you would go if there was one planned in your area?

I am seriously considering hosting such a party. It would be for (but not limited to) members who live in the eastern U.S.

I live in South Florida, and this would be a beautiful setting to have a group vacation.

Let me know what you think.

I'd love to plan a vacation to S Fla. Alas my budget and work/school obligations have my travel pretty well restricted.

I think that's a great idea...and i would love to go to one. however, i think it will probably be very hard to get this together, but if you're able to let me know.

RandyGal- I have a feeling that you would attend if at all in your power! *smiles knowingly

ASH- As long as 5 people will attend, I will organize it. Just a weekend getaway(though I won't kick anyone out-he he) I know of some reasonable hotels in the area, and have a great club for those of us that want to play. It could be a blast!

nutworld- come on, we all can get away for a wonderful weekend! Espescially if it is planned!

I haven't seen Kyttn or souls post yet, and they are the ones that gave me the idea....thought they would be on the bandwagon by now!

I think if everything worked out it might be possible for me and hubby...

actually late august would be best for me, but it doesn't really matter. i'll always be able to find the time to take a weekend off, especially for something like this.

I would LOVE to come to a Pixies meeting....but travel is just not in the budget...any Midwesterners out there wanna give it a try....Branson is close...hotels, campgrounds, shows...and gorgeous in spring and fall..

Okay.... It is looking like the second weekend in August will be good for most of you that wish to come.... let me know.

Motel- There is a place right on the beach for $50 a night. Not bad at all.

I will have to see how you guys are traveling to make arrangements with carpooling to the club, and transportation around town for those who fly.

How about Frinday night through Sunday afternoon? That way, most of us don't have to take much time off work.

Murphy- Great idea! I will have to see if I can make it if you host a weekend party!:)

ooooh sounds like fun Sadora m'dear! sorry I've been so late in posting I've been very busy with sanding the floors, and staining them and polyurethain or how the fuck ever you spell that! anyway I'm moving into a new house but I'm sure I can save some $$ for a trip!

Damn......I'll be down in Georgia probably the last week in june.....26th til july 11.....guess ill have to go to the second annual meeting........maybe us midwest folk can rent a tour bus...meet at a designated place and take a trip down to the festivities......sorry bout missing this one though....:( :( :( :(

Glad to see we have more coming, and that we have people thinking about it at least!

I stayed at the motel this weekend to check it out. It is under reconstruction, so the whole thing isn't open. It is nothing fancy, but has a huge pool, alot of land, a kitchen in every room, and is right on the ocean. Is comfortable, and pretty private. The Tiki Bar needs to be replaced, and the restaurant is closed down, but at $50.00 a night, is a nice place with ocean views.

*The dates are Friday, August 9, Saturday the 10, and Sunday the 11.*

Please pm me and let me know how you will be traveling, so I can make arrangements for those who wish to fly.

I will talk to the club, and get prices for that and post them soon.

Let me know what fun things you want to do that weekend! I have some ideas, but welcome more!!

wow, i didn't realize the seriousness of the plan that some people are actually gonna meet, i would love to be part of it, but i don't the money time or balls to do it, have fun though, and when you get back i want to hear all about it. i'm also being only 18 and still in high school at that, sounds like a blast though.

Here are the prices on the club.
It is a private, members only club. You bring your own liquor, they provide the mixers. There is a D.J., a pooltable, a dancefloor, bartender/waitresses, and a hot & cold buffet.
We will be going on Friday night, Aug.9th. You have to get a membership, and pay a door fee.
Single women- $20 membership - free at the door
Single men- $50 membership - $50.00 at the door
Couples- $20 membership - $40.00 at the door

Hoping to hear from all of you soon, so I can start getting a head count.
For all of you that want to come, but are undecided.... come on, it will be fun, with no pressure to do more than meet and talk with like minded people!

those prices don't sound fair to me...$100 for a single male to just get in the door.....geez

It really isn't bad for the experiences that you can have at the club. Besides, the only reason it is expensive is because of the membership fees. The door fees aren't bad at all.

Obviously they are more welcoming to single women.

yeah that's what i meant....it's five times as much for a man, the first time he goes there

legend- there are quite a few reasons for that.
1. Alot of couples go there looking for a single bi female, and the fact that the club makes it reasonable for them helps.
2. There have been alot of problems with pushy single men there. Them raising the price, has helped weed them out.
3. Most men will pay that just for the experience, so why not charge them?

If you saw what most clubs around here charge, this one would seem more than reasonable.

Sarriah- You would pay for your membership at the club, if you decide to go. It isn't a requirement, but it is a fun place to party!
