$$Hide Your Wallet$$

Many of you know that I indulge in retail therapy:o Well, this weekend I went to an outlet mall and nearly had an orgasm in the Wedgewood store:p............

Got me thinking........In what store is your wallet not safe?

If ya want I can hold it for you while you look around;)

toomanystrokes 10-20-2002 06:32 PM

Any store. Hardware, electronics, sports equipment, clothes...you name it!

Lisa976 10-20-2002 06:32 PM

Disney or Mikasa are the 2 stores that I am not safe by myself in,,,,:)

Irish 10-20-2002 06:46 PM

Lilith-----Seriously;My father(ex-State Cop)did alot of plain clothes
investigations.He always insisted;when going to a city)that;I put
my money and various valuables in various(many)pockets. That
way;if a pickpocket;did get you;they would only get what was in
one pocket! Irish
P.S.It's inconvenient;for you;but when I went;to motorcycle factory school;I put my BIG money;into my boot!That way they'd
have to strip me;to get my money.I had hundreds of dollars with
me.Hotel/motel fare;rent a car money;food money;beer money&
pot.One must be prepared for life on the road.

MurphySprinkles 10-20-2002 07:33 PM

I don't know why, but this thread keeps triggering my popup killer..just thought someone might like to know...

No active credit cards here, so our wallets are safe....

Irish 10-20-2002 07:40 PM

I;also;got popups on it last night!First time;I've had them in some
time. Irish

Is that what all the odd sounds and movements were all about ? hehe jk jk

Well, my "wallet" isn't safe in the Danskin store!!
(or any other Dance apparell/shoe store)
Sheesh just thinking about what I spent. LOL
-Summer :D

Devillishgirl 10-20-2002 08:10 PM

Any bookstore is dangerous to my check book...as well as the Pottery Barn. And my s/o will not let me loose in a tack store unless he's got a hold of any implement I can use to buy things with.

RandyGal 10-20-2002 08:21 PM

Book stores and Disney stores are my downfalls. :)

Oh...and stores that carry big lady underwear. Oh yeahhhhhhhhh, I have fun panties coming out of my ears. :D

BlondeCurlGirl 10-20-2002 08:31 PM

IKEA is 2 levels of shopping heaven for me. Good thing it's almost 3 hours away in Chicago...I only go once a year (but end up spending tons!) :)

Hmmm, I bet even PF hasn't seen that before...there's a mental image I won't be able to shake ;)

Used musical instrument stores...if they have a guitar, bass, or amp I've been looking for...tough to keep that plastic in my pocket

MilkToast 10-20-2002 10:19 PM

I need to make sure that I stay out of electronics shops (or anywhere they sell neat things like that... digital cameras, GPS units, cool MP3 players, etc).

I usually go in just to look and then end up with something, but not until feature creep (you know, "what makes this next model better? ooohhh... I need to have that!") has gotten me at least twice!

Sugarsprinkles 10-20-2002 10:20 PM

With me it's fabric stores or quilt shops. But the problem is I buy the fabric, but then I hate to cut into it to use it.

Sharni 10-20-2002 10:46 PM

dzbuster 10-21-2002 02:28 AM

any store that's got that damn crane game. hey .50 for a stuffed bear?
irish's post about his dad's advice reminds me of my mom's.......keep my cash in my front pocket so i'll know if someone's after it.......though she did then add that it'd be up to me to decide what to do if a cute woman was grabbing around ......yeah she's from brooklyn

dannyk 10-21-2002 06:58 AM

Oldfart 10-21-2002 09:27 AM

Bookstores and gift/curiosity/novelty/electronics shops for

the best gadgets.

You know the type of thing, nuclear powered combination bottle

opener and key finder.

Irish 10-21-2002 10:15 AM

Oldfart---You remind me of that;old saying:"A fool and his money;
are soon parted."or something like that. Irish

BIBI 10-21-2002 10:21 AM

got rid of the credit cards three years ago........and I hate to shop.
Is there something wrong with me??????

But I do enjoy a good old junky auction once in a while!

dicksbro 10-21-2002 10:48 AM

Barnes and Noble would probably be my nemisis along with Walden's and other book stores.

skipthisone 10-21-2002 10:50 AM

Ill have to go with the bookstores as well

Irish 10-21-2002 11:03 AM

BiBi---Nothing wrong with no credit cards! We keep one for emergency trips and making purchases on the web.The way that
I always looked at it-If you don't have the money for it;you shouldn't buy it.Too many people are owned; by their cards;instead of owning the card.I actually had a telemarketer;
laugh at me;when I told them that I didn't believe in credit cards!
I told them-You called me!I didn't call you! Irish

Lovediva 10-21-2002 05:24 PM

I got nuts in Bed and Bath Boutiques!!!

I must have a dozen or so comforter sets with matching sheets and curtains!!

Just like bathroom towels and shower curtains!! I have a set for each and every holiday!!

And a local candle warehouse is also a must!!!

Scarecrow 10-21-2002 05:36 PM

The bookstore and model railroading stores are my down fall.

Rhaycen 10-21-2002 06:06 PM

I keep my wallet nice and empty ... that way it can't become less.

vampeyes 10-21-2002 09:09 PM

I am a shopaholic and I can find anywhere to spend it!!! But Fredricks of Hollywood, Disney, antique and music shops and bookstores are probably among the worst

Coach Knight 10-22-2002 10:45 AM

The Casino!!!!!
I can go a long time without shopping but get me near the blackjack tables, look out!!!

BIBI 10-22-2002 10:55 AM

Wombat 11-06-2002 07:15 PM

Ebay is the place I have to be careful of .Every time Wombats Dinner comes home from work it's "What have you bid on today then?", "nothing dear , honest" :D

IAKaraokeGirl 01-26-2004 06:55 AM

*bump*

The music store (CDs *or* sheet music), book stores, and anything with the words "sale" or especially "clearance" on a sign in the window. :D

nikki1979 01-26-2004 08:38 AM

SuccubusKitty 01-28-2004 01:04 PM

Bookstores are a big "Hide the wallet" thing for me. Hot Topic too...I haven't been in once that I haven't bought/wanted to buy something.

Teddy Bear 01-29-2004 03:32 AM

Two bad places for me are craft stores and book stores.

But any sale sign in any store is like a magnet. Hubby says I can spot a sale sign a mile away. lol.
