For the Birds
I know we have some bird watchers on here so I thought ya'll might like this. This is a site that shows baby owls being hatched. Sometimes it is like watching grass grow (or a mother owl sitting) and sometimes you see the father swoop in, etc. All 6 of the remaining eggs should hatch soon.

Bardog TYTYTYTYTYTYTY! I have a serious love affair with owls but have never seen a nest.
My neighbors across the street, have a porch that reaches into the canopy of the trees. They began placing a live mouse on a flat tray bird feeder on the porch, every time they saw this owl sitting on a nearby branch. Now he comes to be fed. I watched it yesterday. It was magnificent. Before you even get your back turned the owl has come for the mouse. To see him fly and feed, that close up was breath-taking. LOL...as I am typing this I can here them calling to each other outside. |
Bardog,
Way cool! Thank you. Don't have too many nesting owls in Highlandtown. We employ an "outside cat" consultant for rodent control. |
Thank you for sharing that site, I've bookmarked it. I'm not a bird fanatic, but I love owls and I know my kids will love the site, too.
