The inmate was aware that all prison mail passed through censors. One day he got a letter from his wife. She asked him a question...

"Honey, when do I plant potatoes?"

He wrote back to her...

"Do not under any circumstances dig up the old garden. That's where I buried all of my guns!"

Within days she wrote and said...

"6 investigators came to the house yesterday. They dug up every square inch of the back yard!"

She got a letter from her husband the next day...

"Now is the time to plant potatoes!"
