Going away for a while (again?)
 

For reasons I won't get into now, I'm leaving early in the morning (it's Saturday night now) for a 2 day trip.

All I will say is that it's business AND pleasure (well, sort of: I'm going to visit an old gal friend of mine, and get to see her for the first time since her daughter was born last November - we're hoping to get to go to brunch late tomorrow morning - after that stop it's all business).

More news if/when it becomes available.

Well, got back in tonight. Won't have any further news about the primary reason for the trip for another week. Not gonna jinx it.

I actually ran into two of my ex's yesterday, deliberately. Just spent some time catching up with one over brunch (and met her almost 6 month old daughter), and the other over lunch, then gave her a lift to work. And that's it, I went on my own way after that to get where I had to go Sunday evening.

Just wanted to let people know I was home again.

I didn't actually bring anyone anything. I did a teeny bit of shopping in an old hangout while I had a chance to, and that's about it. Now I'm playing the waiting game for the next week. Either way, I'll let everyone know what was going on at that point in time.

So, 3 weeks ago when I took off, it was going down to Indiana on Sunday, and having an all day job interview on Monday. They notified me this past Thursday (the 3rd) that they'd made an offer to someone else, and they accepted.

What's odd is that I never heard whether or not they actually called any of the people I had down as references....

But I did get to visit some friends on the way down at least, and I posted photographs (taken both by my cell phone, and by my digital camera) of my friend's daughter online (I'm not going to post the URL here, it wouldn't be appropriate).

*sigh*

I've got until the COBRA arrangement is up in October to find a salaried job, with benefits. And maybe I can change living arrangements too, before it drives me completely mad.....
