Elton John has announced that he plans to marry partner David Furnish.

"Meeting David has been the greatest thing to happen to me," Sir Elton explained in a newspaper interview.

Homosexual civil partnerships become legal in England on 5 December. The couple hopes to have a civil partnership ceremony, but it may not be until next year.

Elton, 58, and Furnish, 42, have been together for 11 years.

Now THAT is cool. Glad Elton is going to make an honest man out of him. :)

Jesus Christ jseal......enough already! :) I am getting too old for shocks you know. You started these "transitions" threads when someone passed away. It's hard not to associate these threads to the death of someone because of that....It makes me wary of opening these threads at all.

I think it's grand....good for them. I thought they might have done it here in Toronto as David is from here and gay marriage has been allowed here for quite some time....

I read story in Salon.com.Congratulations to Sir Elton and David.Must make note to send toaster oven as wedding gift.
