You're fighting a shaky clown

This is a clown from a circus where all of the elephants are pink. His eyes are bloodshot, he moves in more of a stagger than a swagger, and his breath... Oh, man. His breath.

He tries to hit you in the face with a pie, but gets distracted by a nearby mime and misses.

You're fighting a creepy clown

This is a creepy clown. He differs from the scary clown in that he is creepy, rather than scary, but the overall effect is the same. -shudder-
He gets the jump on you.

He tries to soak you with EVIL seltzer water, but you hide behind a tiny umbrella.

If you defeat a clow, you might gain clown shoes or perhaps long skinny balloons.
