Am I dead?
 

I've had 3 people that I haven't talked to in a few weeks call me in the past couple of hours just to check on me. It seems that they saw on the noon news a report that a person with the same name as me, his wife, and son drowned in a lake due to a boating accident late yesterday.

It gets even more wierd in that he was only 2 years older than me. His wife is the same age as mine and his son was the same age as mine also. He lived about 30 miles from where I do. His middle inital was even the same as mine.

I really feel bad for his family but this is creeping me out at the same time.

My dad worked with a fellow with the same name at the same co. and when the other fellow passed away we got all kinds of flowers, calls,and sympathy cards. Dad had a prepaid burial plan and the cemetery put up his headstone!Took dad about 3mos. to get eveything straightened out again.

I watched the 6:00 news and they reran the story. This time they had a picture of the family. He was about a 6'6" B/M I'm about 5'10" W/M.

*cue Twilight zone music

They say that TV puts on a few pounds, but 6" and a skin-dye change is completely unexpected.

Actually, I can see this becoming no laughing matter for you in a hurry...if some agency of importance jumps on this mistaken ID bandwagon, it could really complicate your life beyond all expectations...a few years back, there were 2 other fellows with my name listed in the phone book, & at one point, one of them wrote a bad check...so I got a call from an angry grocery manager, I don't think he believed me when I told him I never shopped for groceries (or anything else) in Murfreesboro...

Man, it's creepy reading the newspaper this morning and seeing your name listed in the obituary column. The funeral service is at 2:00 today. Should I take off work and go?

Go and see if any of your friends showed up and scare the shit out of them.
