Carelessness and Insensitivity

Although I am not surprised

I'm glad it was not the Air Force. Mr. Lil used to code the programs for personell stuff and I think he'd have somehow blamed himself.

It is sad when mistakes like that happen. Unfortunately, they do in any large organization.

1nutworld 01-06-2007 09:40 AM

OOPS!

To those of us not "involved" its a mildly humorous situation. To those involved its highly embarassing, but as DB states.......in large organizations stuff like that is a regretable possibility

Lilith 01-06-2007 09:40 AM

And to the families it was???

1nutworld 01-06-2007 09:42 AM

salt on a wound.......plain and simple.

1nutworld,

The bug is fixed in the next release.

I thought the dead were only eligible to serve their country in public office...

Only because I am thinking about education, grants and NCLB at the moment.. Perhaps we should start standardized testing for government officials?

As far as I am concerned, this is highly unacceptable.

If you step beyond the immediate insensitivity, it's absolutely brilliant.

Casualties are the harsh reality of engaging people who violently disagree with you. If you can send only the dead over to places of conflict, casualty rates (although excessive), have a minimal impact on the living.

The opposition are led by the casualty rates to believe that they are winning and no longer have to resort to IED campaigns against their own people to maintain momentum.

The concept needs some polishing, but the adage about only having one life to give for your country goes out the window and death takes a new and meaningful aspect.

Pay rates for overseas service for deceased serving members will give the families assistance during times of need , as well as the medical and other benefits.

There is a down side to this I haven't been able to get my head around, but I trust others in the forum will isolate and explain it to me.

Always look on the bright side of . . . . .
