Give it up...

Just curious, as this was asked on another forum I visit. Regardless of your religion or lack of, are you giving anything up for Lent? Or is there something you plan to do to enhance/improve your life or others for the next 40 days?

About the only hope I have is that within the time of Lent is that I give up this bad stretch of health that the winter months have brought. My day to day routine won't change much just try and be as good of a person as I can and to be there for others if/when they need me. Been a bit lacking on that front the last few months. :(

In spite of how tempting it is to follow my father's lead and give up abstinence...in my mature years, I've always given up coffee. Now that I'm drinking decaf 99% of the time, I have chosen to abstain from eating anything purchased through a window.

So you park the car and walk in.

It sounds that easy, but when you're warped like me...nothing's that simple.

I go to Wendys and eat unhealthy food because it's convenient. If I have to get out and walk...it eliminates that excuse.

But............ it's hot and juicy!!! I'd crawl for miles for that. ;) :hot:

I am giving up pastries, cakes, doughnuts - all of that much-too-good much-to-sugary stuff. I usually have a pastry of some sort midway through the afternoon as I work or for dessert at some point in the day.

I think I should give up religious observances for Lent this year.

ReaperWoman 02-21-2007 10:49 AM

I've already decided to give up extreme sports for lent.

Since I spend most of my time doing bugger all, this shouldn't be too taxing...

Seems to me that spending a lot of time buggering all is both taxing AND extreme! :p

PantyFanatic 02-21-2007 04:54 PM

I'm giving up riding roller coasters and eating watermelon until after Lent.

Oldfart 02-21-2007 05:51 PM

I'll give up anything except this place.

Irezumi Kiss 02-21-2007 05:54 PM

I can't really afford to do what I'd LIKE to be doing, so in essence, I've already begun observing it in a de facto sorta way. :hair:
