Frampton Live

me next, next weekend :swoon:

Who has been elusive? What performer, band, etc. have you always wanted to see but never managed to?

IowaMan 08-05-2007 06:22 PM

There's a lot of them that I have always wanted to see but somehow never got the opportunity but the one that pops to my mind first is Cheap Trick.

oh and Dire Straits.

Jude30 08-05-2007 07:35 PM

Well I still kick myself for not seeing The Dead Milkmen when they came through Lawrence.

The Offspring is the band that's still together that I really want to see.

National tours normally ignore the northern half of the continent, so the answer must be, most.

Frampton!! You can probably smell my jealousy from there.

Always wanted to see Huey Lewis and the News.

Enjoy Frampton! :D

Aqua 08-05-2007 08:58 PM

Voivod after their original singer came back to the group.

Devo, but they are coming through soon.

New Order.

I saw Huey Lewis and Eddie Money together a couple years ago at the same venue where I am seeing Frampton and Doobie Brothers sans Micheal McDonald.

LixyChick 08-06-2007 06:00 AM

No Fuckin Way Lil!!!! *jealousy oozing* That's sooooo cool!

I gotta see Bon Jovi, U2 and Queen (but wish Freddie was still alive)!!!

IowaMan...I met Cheap Trick at a teeny tiny venue when they were just starting out. Talked to Robin Zander and rocked out to their (then) new songs. Now they are classics...*sigh*

scotzoidman 08-06-2007 11:09 AM

For me, it would prob be missing the recent Steely Dan / Michael McDonald tour.

Many believe the Doobie Bros are better off w/o McDonald. I don't agree, but understand I am prolly in the minority there.

IowaMan 08-06-2007 07:32 PM

Oh god no Rabbit! The Doobies were the first concert I ever saw back in probably '79 or '80. I was just a kid and had an absolute blast!

And Huey Lewis and the News? One of the best shows I've ever seen. :thumb:

I wouldn't say better either way, but they were a very different group when MickyD joined up...much more polished, & in many ways more successful, but they lost some of that biker edge they had before...I once read that Patrick Simmons said that it was when McDonald sucumbed to record company pressure to go solo was what broke up the band...

IowaMan 08-12-2007 07:08 PM
