"Checkmate"
"Shaw met - The King is dead"
The goofball of the chess world, Bobby Fisher, seemed to be proof that brilliance sleeps closely to madness. At the time of the great Fischer-Spassky match, I tried to accept his radicalism as part of his strategy but his later life seemed to reflect a mind that worked different than the norm. My lesson was I to sift a mountain of rubble to find the diamonds. |
Rest in Peace, chess master.

Fisher was one of the more important contributors to the game of chess. His brilliance emerged in his youth. He grew older but the brilliance became lackluster in the passage of age. Still, he was truly one of the greatest chess players of ALL time.

Very interesting gentleman indeed.
RIP Mr. Fischer. |
Interesting side note. He died at the age of 64. The same number of squares on a chess board.
