She's Gone
Truly an idol for women like me, Bettie Page passed away Thursday at 85 of pneumonia following a heart attack. She was a teacher and someone who made her own choices. I am sure she suffered greatly at times for those choices and I totally adored her photos.

Bettie Page was, through those oh so provocative pictures, an important development in the transformation of Americans' sexual mores.
R.I.P. madam. |
I heard: just wow.
|
damn i have some of her items she was awesome
|
She was also yet another native born Nashvillian who had nothing to do with country music. She refused to be photographed later in life, wanting her fans to remember her as she was in her prime. She did suffer harassment from the bluenoses that condemned her for celebrating the beauty of the human form (which the Bible tells us was created in God's image...so does that mean God's image is vulgar & obscene?) She appeared to have suffered from mental illness later in life, & while she did become a born-again Christian, she never denounced her early career as wrong in any way.
She did allow as how one of her more extreme bondage poses nearly ripped her arms & legs out of their sockets :yikes: |
I have a friend who has a picture of Betty Page on the back of her laptop. She was quite sexy.

She was a true iconoclast. RIP Bettie Page.

:(
Rest in peace Ms. Page. |
Wow, this is the first I'd heard of that. :(
R.I.P. Bettie |
I bought a box set DVD about a year ago with a series of her dances.
She was a powerful person who had a profound influence. So long Bettie (Betty) Page. |
NOOOOOOOOOOO!
:tear: (she could've been my grandmother, but DAMN was that woman HOT) |
My hub's reply to the news was...
 :tear: :yikes: Oddly enough in that order. |
