Transitions- Marvel Comics
gekkogecko,
I suspect that your prediction is accurate, alas. |
Holy Crapola!
My question is how are they going to mess up X-Men?
Ah yes! Soylent Disney rolls on.
Wolverine with mouse ears?
:yikes: |
Perish the thought.
Oh No!
Well, at least they can't mess with Batman (I am the BatFreak). He's DC. Although the Marvel Heroes in bright colors with flower print would make for an interesting comic book............
What I heard was that the House of Mouse already has the pre-teen girl market sewed up with Hannah Montana & whatnot, now they have an entree into the boy market as well. As long as they don't fuck it up by Disney-fying Marvel (& why should they? it's a goose that lays golden eggs), I see no more problem than when Warner sucked up DC so many years ago...
I realize Disney has put a few more adult movies recently (Pirates of the Caribbean come to mind), but Warner has always put out rated R movies. I don't remember Disney doing that. However, you do make a good point.....Marvel Comics have always been a gold mine.

Lord Snow Disney has been putting out Rated R movies for years. Maybe not under the Disney name but they owned Miramax Films sence 1993 and Miramax Films puts out R rated movies. |
I was unaware they owned that company as well.
Disney has also used Touchstone for its more "adult" offerings as well. After nearly ruining the Disney name with "Tron" many years ago, it was decided to keep the parent company name for only "G" rated family movies, & use other brands for everything else. Marvel Films is already a brand unto itself, & I don't foresee Diz diluting a successful format; it is yet another step towards the "Engulf & Devour" corporate culture, but I don't think there's any stopping that behemoth anytime soon...
