Today, I moved my daughter into her own apartment. Well, it's a four bedroom apartment with three other girls, but you know what I mean. We were all so ready for this day to get here and now that it has, we are both feeling a little shell shocked.

She has called me three times, since I hugged her good-bye, and I've had to tell her that she can't come home and that her feelings are really normal. I know she will do great.....and so will her mama.

Any words of encouragement....or just some fun flirting to distract will be appreciated.

It's time to start making and breaking habits, Tess.

Create a habit of a family dinner every Sunday or second Sunday.

Create habits around the new freedoms for intimacy you now have, you are limited only by your imagination.

Money!! We are fully supporting her for the next several months, until she can transition into being able to support herself. And I'm praying that day really arrives. :nod:

Lilith, do to yours what my mom did to me. She told me when I graduated high school I had a choice to make.....either I go to college or I have one year to get the hell out of her house. Now I've been out of her house since May of 2004 and she's begging me to come back. Even did research into getting me a job so I could.

Seriously ... we've got three boys that have found staying at home is cheaper than being out on their own. :( Consider yourself lucky and be proud of your daughter for taking this big step. ;)

He's in college and living in my house.

Then when he's done, give him a year to get a job, get some savings, etc. then kick him out; or at least make him pay rent. Unfortunately, I don't make quite enough to make it on my own (I come up about 150-200 short each month) so I still live with my Dad, but I pay 150 rent and do chores plus some extra stuff to help out.

As far as a distraction TinglingTess, host an orgy. Then post pics/video of it here on pixies.

This big move of the kid is really more our idea than hers. She would happily live with us and let mommy take care of everything. Of course, I need to never nag her because she is 18 after all. :rolleyes:

When I got divorced and moved in with my Joe, he more than agreed to fully support and help me raise this teenager girl of mine. He has gone above and beyond, but he is really done having teenagers in his house. He already raised two sons of his own and having a girl was a whole new party.

We want to be alone, without a newly grown-up getting in our way. I refuse to feel guilty about it, and since I'm willing to work my ass off and give her all my money, I don't think I have a reason to feel guilty.

Sorry for dumping all this info on you, but Pixies is like family and I need to get this off my chest.....or is that get DB on my chest. :D
