Hi friends

This is really interesting. It's kind of a brain teaser.

Condition : You must do this in your head. Don't use paper to write out the problem.

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000.
Now add 30. And another 1000.
Now add 20. Now add another 1000. Now add 10.

What is the total?


Did you get 5000? Most people do, but the correct answer is actually 4100. If you don't believe me, try using a calculator or writing it on paper.

Yep, 5000 on the first count.

I though briefly about 5000, but caught myself and came up with 4100. :)

4100 on the nose. Don't mess with me, I count movies for a living..........Did I mention that I was able to literally sleep through math class?

4100, of course. But then, I'm a trained bookeeper.

5K the first time

As I was reading the question I noticed the 'Did you get 5000?' question at the bottom of my screen so I added slowly and carefully, sensing a trap. (Admiral Ackbar would be proud, I'm sure.)

If I hadn't seen that I likely would have had something other than 4100 or 5000. :rolleyes: I'm slightly mathematically challenged. :p
