Cleveland is just as good as Chicago
Like many of the major industrial cities of the western hemisphere, Cleveland has lost population these last two decades, but unlike many, it has maintained it's standing among the best of the best.

And rumor has it that he is going to be in big trouble if he breaks his expected 6 months probation. :roflmao: https://news.google.com/news/more?h...ved=0CDUQqgIwAQ While this actually has caused some highly publicized changes and scrutiny in local government, the effective time for the disappearance of the political spots is less certain in many minds. The larger the pot and the further away from the hands that fill it, the more and deeper the hands are to empty it. Few of us haven't needed, looked for or not used "I have a friend that can help……." when we must come in contact or deal with our 'government'. So what is your experience and where do you see the line between the public system doing something 'for' you and doing it 'to' you? |
PF, it is Chicago. All that means is that one man in the family got busted. It's not political corruption. It's just another business.

It's C21, a whole new era of snouts in the trough.
To think it's just bankers, financiers and upper echelon business people is naive. |
Ohio is still behind Illinois, though. Here, our govenors all seem to retire to the state prison at Joliet.
Knowing our silly state, they probably still draw retirement pay. :faint: |
I think there's a good chance Illinois may be ahead of ALL the rest of the states. Your DirtBags do eventually go to prison. Few of the others do.
Sorry OF. Nothing new-millennia here. This is pure old-school. Even this action had a bunch of game-playing going on. The big FBI/IRS pop with 200 agents jumping all over the county started in 2008. When it was recognized that the jig was up, a few of the dirtiest were quickly run through with minimal charges, pled guilty and sentenced to a joke. (i.e. a sheriff in office for 33 years with common knowledge blatant extortion got one year house arrest for soliciting campaign funds on county time) The only thing that has surprised me is that some people truly acted surprised and so many others all over believe it is unique and not happening to them. |
