Transitions: Hugh Hefner
No one had a more profound effect on my views of sexuality than Hugh Hefner. Hence, my user name (rabbit).
He did it his way. RIP Hef. Thanks. |
Millions of young boys hopes and dreams have been lost!
RIP Hef |
 I'm with you Rabbit. I (unfortunately am old enough) remember the beginning of Playboy and it gave me my first glimpse of societies hypocrisy. Pornography was something only the lowest deranged perverts have an interest in. But when the 'sophisticated' people bought the glossy professional magazine (because "they only read it for the articles" :roflmao: ) it suddenly became acceptable. For me, HH was the first person to open the truth box of human sexuality in modern times in this country. I thank him.

RIP Hugh! RIP!

Mixed feelings here.
No doubt he was one of the early big names & movers in the sexual revolution that seriously needed to happen. But of course, his method of revolutionizing sexual mores very much maintained the patriarchy. Truth be told, there never was a social icon that was untarnished in some way. Overall, I think his contribution to society was positive. |
One of his 'bunnies' said in an interview, "He made me what I am today."
And I wonder what that is. Farewell Hugh. |
