Mantra

A conversation I had with Mindboxer made me think of this........

Is there a little saying that you say to yourself, either to give you peace of mind or to just reassure yourself? Or do you have a saying you use as a reminder to yourself?

When neg thoughts creep in and I get worried some stupid thing, out of my control will happen I just tell myself.......
You are not that lucky!!!! (I figure I have never won the lottery so I will probably not get struck by lightening either) :D :p

What's your mantra?

nutworld 04-19-2002 08:14 AM

I don't have any sayings...maybe I should.

I just HOPE you never get hit by lightning Lilith.

I hope you have a good day.

It is not a saying, but many times I tell myself that everyone has to make his own experiences. Parents / teachers ASO can say it 1000 times, it will fit better in your mind if you have experienced it yourself.

there's always someone deeper in the shit than you

mindboxer505 04-19-2002 06:10 PM

LOL......Lilith, I remember that.......I actually have two.......when i get ticked off......"save it for sparring class, kick some ass''
when im down about something.....''it will bet better''.....not really mantras but sometimes just a thought i'll have.........or i focus on the picture i have of my kids......all ways works!!!!

icecreamthighs 04-20-2002 12:17 PM

sometimes i feel the following way:

i came into the world totally unprepared for life, now that i am grown i realise that i am a little less prepared than that!!!

scotzoidman 04-21-2002 12:32 AM

When I get up out of bed in the morning, I grunt out something that sounds like "awfuck," does that count?

Oldfart 04-21-2002 06:40 AM

"Ruth, a Pint of Guinness please."

souls_cry2000 04-21-2002 09:28 AM

"Someone loves me...Someone cares....It's not as bad as it could be." This gets me through tough times especially those daily anxieties that keep you from sleeping.

xanne 04-21-2002 12:32 PM

LMAO @ Scotz :D :D

Mine is "Struggle that doesn't kill you will make you strong"

scotzoidman 04-21-2002 07:37 PM

I think I like OldFart's mantra better... I bet it results in positive attitude adjustment every time...

Oldfart 04-22-2002 06:04 AM

Scotz

Trust an old Fart.

A pint of Guinness give time to put things into perspective,

and if that doesn't work, Ruth, the greatest Irish bar manager

in Darwin, will give you a perspective extension.

Lilith 03-22-2005 11:22 PM

A prime example of scotz and oldfart being ((((scotz and oldfart)))) :)

Anyone else have a little mantra?

wyndhy 03-22-2005 11:44 PM

oh well..i mean it. and i'm trying to teach my daughter this idea, too. sometimes shit happens or doesn't happen the way you want or even deserved so ya shrug your shoulders and say "oh, well"
