Meeting Up

Hey everybody, I'm thinking of meeting someone from Pixies. I know her a lot, but I just always get scared thinking about it. You know, all the what if's...well, I'm in Missouri, and I think I can arrange it, and it is exciting, but I just don't know for sure if I should go for it yet. What do you guys think? Anybody else had this problem? Anyone interested in meeting? Thanks a lot. --DJ

What are you afraid of? I always act the same and meeting people on the net is no different for me than meeting them face to face. I am going to meet another member of Pixies when she comes out to Australia next year.
We are good friends with respect and interest in each other. Nothing sexual is planned as she has an existing relationship that is important to her and I always respect relationships. If circumstances are changed when she visits well that would be a different ballgame. The thing is that no matter what, we are friends and like each other and we will meet and enjoy the others company.
All the people I have made friends with in Pixies are people that I would willingly have as friends in any situation.

I met someone that I had know from online. It went very well. Just be yourself.

Same lines as the rest...if you have been yourself online, you wont have a problem. Be honest to yourself and you will be honest to others and everything else will fall into place. Wish I could meet someone from here ;) Lucky you hehe

If you want to meet but are not sure about what will happen, have an agreement about what you would do or not do for the beginning. And if sympathy is ok you can still change. Just be yourself. Do not wait for anything and be happy for every positive surprise. ;)

E. All of the above.

RandyGal 06-04-2002 11:48 AM

I think you should go for it.

Just make sure they show up at the designated time or it could freak you out that they MIGHT not be showing up at all. ;)

Also, I agree with everyone else in that if you've been yourself online and your friend has been honest in that area too, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

I've met many internet friends and it has yet to go bad on me...except for that silly scheduled meeting-time thing. :D :D :p

I've met 2 different people from online. THe first was a couple years ago and was disappointing because she wasnt too smart or quite as she described herself. The more recent one was very fun, actually. We had a cool little date and kissed a little and talked and I had to leave before we had much more fun...DAMN IT!!! Just wish her roommate wouldve left us alone and this story would be lots more interesting........

heheheheh Well I've met several online friends and I've ye to be disappointed. I met one who flew in from Australia and were together for over a year. If You've been yourself, and your intended has too... things will just go smoothly. If either of you has put on a front.....well then it's a little odd. Either way, keep an open mind and enjoy it for whatever happens. Hell I have.

Yep........I met someone...........
I met one of my best friends online.....
She is 26 and has her own Advertising Agency on the east coast of Australia............We met in Political Chat and she was coming over to Western Australia on business, so we met up and got on like a house on fire - we painted the town red and made a promise to each other, to met at least once every year........she is a great friend and ally when I venture into policital chat.....

So I say.........dj.......go for it......and rule with your head and your heart......not just one, use both to get an equal balance of your emotions.......LOL....if that's possible.......

If you don't meet.........it will always be a ......"what if"....in your mind for the rest of your life........

I haven't met anyone I know online and I have to admit, I kind of prefer it that way. . . online and offline seem like two different things to me.

I have met several online friends..

several years ago.. I was a regular on a popular divorce site... (I got banned!! LOL) but thru that, I was able to meet 8 people from the midwest... and truly was blessed to do so. I still remain in contact with a few.. one of which gets married next month which requires me to make a little road trip to St. Louis :) :)

I have met 2 other men as a result of them reading my stories online. One.. turned out to be a very serious relationship which almost resulted in me moving to the east coast... but alas that didn't work out. The other... well... he will always be one of my very dearest friends...

And.. as SS mentioned above.. I have met her.. and Murphy.. both wonderful people.. and a pleasure to consider friends..

I have no regrets about meeting anyone that I have met yet. I do realize that meeting those online can be a bit risky.. but I believe that I am careful... and before doing so I have alot of time invested getting to know them...
