The answers surprise me a little. I was thinking that security without precaution was almost a lost feeling...what with all the horror stories one hears on the news reports day in and day out.
We do have the neighborhood "hooligans", but I've discovered that they are really just bored and no real sense of "belonging. I make it a point to say, "hello. how's it going?" whenever they ride/walk by my house. They'd NEVER initiate a conversation because I doubt that'd be cool to their peers, but they've never defaced my place or tried anything other than...stealing a pumpkin or two from our front porch...and once Mr. Lixy discovered that "someone" left a #2 in our outhouse potty...LMAO!
We now lock the outhouse...but the main house is always open! Go figure!
