Well, I can certainly say, as someone who flew yesterday, that the situation really threw everyone for a loop. I was nervous as to whether I'd arrived at the Austin airport in time yesterday, but perhaps since it is a smaller airport, the security screening wasn't awful. Of course, my sweetie got picked for "special handling," which made his day.
But the terror alerts DID cause some difficulty. Flights were routinely late all day, and we ended up being re-routed on two subsequent flights (before the weather dipped its hand in as well). The thing that amazed me, though, was how CIVILIZED everyone in the airports acted. Especially in Atlanta, there was practically wall-to-wall people. Yet I never saw anyone overtly hostile, and all passengers treated security and flight crew personnel with respect, and vice versa.
Hopefully things will calm down in time for maddy and Lizz. *fingers crossed*
