teaching my daughter this song at the bus stop:
weeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllll...
i came to the river and i couldn’t get across
so i traded five dollars for a broken down horse.
the horse couldn't swim so i traded it for a pin
but the pin wouldn't stick so i traded it for a pick
the pick wouldn't dig do i traded it for a pig
and the pig wouldn't squeal so i traded it for a wheel
the wheel wouldn't run so i traded it for a gun
but the gun wouldn't shoot so i traded it for a boot
the boot wouldn't wear so i traded it for a bear
and the bear wouldn't holler so i traded it for a dollar.
the dollar wouldn't pass so i stuck it in the grass
and the grass wouldn't grow so i stuck it in the snow.
the snow wouldn't melt so i stuck it on my belt
then my belt wouldn't buckle so i stuck it on my knuckle.
my knuckle wouldn't crack so i stuck it on my back
and my back wouldn't bend and that's the end!
shave and a haircut, two bits!
