I had mine done once by a professional and was very pleased with the results, however the cost was insane, or at least it was where I went. I have dyed my own hair for years and there are some good products on the market now.

My best advice is that you find a Sally's Beauty Supply and let them help you pick out a shade and necessary supplies. It is really very easy to dye your hair. The biggest trick is to have enough dye to cover the amount of hair you have. When I had long hair I would use two bottles for even coverage.

I also dye my teenagers hair with those semi-permanent colors and once they wash out she is back to normal. Well, she will never be normal, but her hair is fine.
