I had heard the story of Emperor Norton of the US before, highly amusing tale, esp. considering the way San Francisco humored him as just another harmless oddball (a practice that seems to carry on to the present).

I may go back to the link & answer a few questions differently, just to see how mad I would have to be to compare to the great ones. I loved answering "Fools! Will you destroy them all?" (Yes, of course...)
