It will be 16 years ago this June that my wife Irene was travelling between clients when she was struck head on by a VERY careless driver. On the initial impact her face went through the steering whell and was creshed by the dashboard. Everything from her lower lip to the top of her head was crushed into small pieces likecrumpled potato chips. The impact sent her car careening backward ind hit a retaining wall. Her brain slid forarward inside her skull and the frontal lobes were deeply scored.

Up to that time she was a part time college prof and a full time computer tech. In an instant, she was left with trauma induced epilepsy, seizure disorder, organic personality disorder, cognitive skills deficiency, spatial temporal deficiencies, short term memory loss and images seen by the eyes do not necessarily register the same on the brain.

Over the years, I have taken care of her myself, taking her wherever to get the best treatments available. She has some assemblence of life and is able to fuction as an adult in some mental areas while limited to an 8 yr. old in others.

I know what it is to miss someone you once had and I can only imagine the joy when you get them back. believe me when I say, I cheer the victory of getting your sister back and know like no one else just how grateful and appreciative you are and the lessons you will take from this.
