I remember seeing a "Married with Children" episode that dealt with Al's missing socks.........

Seems aliens were sneaking in to steal the dirty ones in the middle of the night for fuel for their spaceship!

I remember an inner peace filling me after seeing this and I no longer wondered......

It's the only logical answer in my opinion!!!
