If you read Masters and Johnson, they divided the human sexual response into 4 stages - excitement, plateau, orgasm and resolution, with detailed descriptions of changes in heart rate, breathing, muscles......boy oh boy, did it make for boring reading.

But from a subjective, non-scientific point of view, well, it's not llike sneezing at all, is it sixsense? It is like wanting to reach a peak (I am trying very hard not to use the word goal), an incredible high and the buildup to getting there feels as good as arriving.
The crossing of the threshold to release it like everything in your body is concentrated into pure sensation, and if shared with the one you love, intense feelings of closeness, bonding, of melding with the other person are there, as well as pure lust and pleasure.

Hope that is coherent, cos it is quite hard to describe.
