ok, let me try this again, the last one didn't post.

I think I must be living on a different planet than most of you.

I for one see just the opposite in my circles... Lesbians are far more accepted than gay men in our society. I've literally traveled the world, and have found little change in this mentality. In many cases with lesbians and especially bi ladies, they are encouraged by their friends and significant others. However, gay men are almost always discouraged from such activities.

Many of you may think me homophobic, but I'm not politically correct. But I feel uncomfortable when in the general area of a man that I know to be gay. But on the other hand I know several openly lesbian, and bi ladies, and being in close contact with them doesn't bother me at all, and no its not because of the fantacy factor, I simply have no problem accepting them for who they are and what they do.

I think that part of the problem is that lesbian and bi ladies are confident in who they are and what they want from life. They usually don't seek acceptance of their sexuality in an open way. Whereas, gay men seem to have a need to portray themselves as gay in flamboiant ways. Gay me are more concerned with flaunting their sexuality in the face of the world, and attempting to make every accept them regardless of their choices. But lesbians and bi ladies are more concerned with being accepted by their partners and friends.

Regarding the entertainment industry. I lived in southern California for about 7 years, and noted that there seems to be a higher than normal population of gay men living there. As many of them work in the entertainment industry, it provides them with the means to once again flaunt their sexuality in the faces of millions. They seem to have an agenda of initially desensitizing the population by slowly introducing gay sceans on television and movies in hopes their situations will be so commonplace that no one really notices any more. Somewhat like they have done with murder. The television public are not nearly as shocked and appauld by murder now, as they were just 30 years ago. Primarily because we can literally watch 20-30 people being killed every night on tv.

In a nutshell, Lesbian and bi ladies are comfortable with who they are and where they are going. Gay men just simply keep shoving it down everyones throat hoping that one day it will be ok.

Just my 2 cents worth....
