I am glad to hear that you joined up at Curves.. it is a great way to work out... 30 minutes passes so quickly that by the time you realize you are working out.. it is over  They recommend 3 times per week, in my case, I choose to go 5 days a week.... tho I HOPE that once I get this off I will drop down to 3 days a week..
I am walking as well... 3 miles a day.. sounds like alot.. but I break it down to 2 1.5 mile walks (1 in the morning, 1 in the evening)..
I am being VERY careful.. I am NOT over-doing it.. and am being realistic with my goals... I am certain tho.. that exercise is the key.. and I wish you lots of luck with it SS.
