Hmm, most of my own jobs have been pretty ordinary --- but... In the summers, I work as a Student Employment Officer for the federal government, and in our office we see all kinds of bizarre jobs. I've lost count of how many job opportunities I've posted for Christmas tree pruners and potato bug pickers; and then there was the hot air balloon attendant, the clown (sorry to the clown phobes here), the carnie, and then my personal favourite, which takes some explaining...

Just outside of the town where I live and work, there is a man who has created a bomb shelter. Out of old school buses. Buried underground. With air conditioning and blankets and a heck of a lot of canned food. For 300 people. And he apparently has a waiting list of people who want to have spaces reserved for them!

Well, every summer, this guy phones into our office to hire some nice strapping high school boys to come and clean the shelter because of vandals. My question is and always will be, what good is the shelter against nuclear weapons if local kids can break in and vandalize it???
