Hey all.
It occurred to me today, just how pervasive the power of advertising can be, AND how long-lasting.
20-some years ago, a Scottish comedian named Rikki Fulton did an advertisement on TV (what for, I can't remember - maybe not
quite so pervasive then?) where he was standing in the pouring rain, lamenting all his woes. The shot was in extreme close-up, and when the camera pannned out, there he was, standing selling from a tray of "Lucky White Heather" ... which was kinda the catchphrase!
Now I find I'm saying that (to) myself, any time I see ANY unlucky event or whatever happening (mostly) to someone else!!
Anybody else have any sayings or thoughts they use frequently that come from an ad?
Enquiring mind NEEDS to know!!
