The people at the top set the prices for barrels of oil and the price is carried out to gas companies and gas station dealers, and so on. The price of gas is determend by the supply of gas and the demand. The Oil companys keep the suppy as small as possible and hope for a large demand to raise prices. After they get the price where the want it we will have all the gas we want. It's happen twice before first time in 1974.
