.. NO WAY you would have painted today anyway.
Most all of the time you have to a little spackling at best, to get a wall to look good with paint. Giving that time to dry and sanding before a sealer or primer, then waiting for that to cure before covering with paint would have made for a long day and a crummy job.
Just being dry to the touch isnt enough. Anything that was wet should have at least overnight to cure before covering it with the next process.
