What do you want to be?
Growing up, I'm sure all of us had some dream profession--something we wanted to do when we got big. I, personally, wanted to be Nancy Drew.
Barring that, I wanted to be a newspaper reporter.
In real life, I'm a legal secretary--which, ironically, has some investigative aspects as well as written ones.
What did you want to be when you grew up, and how does it compare with what you do now?

I wanted to be a comic book artist. Loved DC and Marvel comics.
I'm a commercial furniture dealer.
Go figure...

Well, this is not very romatic occupation but I allways wanted to be a Baker and continue the family tradition on my moms side. I did go through some schooling after high school but dropped out because I wanted to work. I do have a knack for it but unless you have your own bakery you don't make any money. I don't consider grocery store bakers as bakers for the most part since they have a lot of premixes.
Guess I just liked it when you got to roll the bun dough (which by the way I'm very good at!)
Actually the other thing I considered was a minister. Holy cow I'm glad I didn't go that route!

Technically, I'm a cybersecretary most days, working from home...does that mean I'm not real?

Actually...
As a child I really idolized my grandfather.. and I wanted to follow his path and like him, be a famous clown with Barnum & Bailey and the Ringling Brothers circus's.... unfortunately my rose colored glasses fell off too early and I discovered how SCAREY clowns can be... so I lost that dream...
After that... my desires were to become a printer (the old kind that still set type) and later a desire to open my own auto shop...
and here I am.. a Child Support Enforcement Officer... (I am either loved... or hated... no grey area)....

I always wanted to be a neonatal nurse, just like my mother is...but once I figured out that I can't do math to save my life and I cringe at her stories of some of the horrible things she has seen...well that killed that idea. Later down the road I figured out I had good writing skills and a love for reading... so now I am just about finished with my degree in Public Relations, which will give me the opportunity to write and hopefully go into the field of health care communications with my health studies minor. I may also consider editing/publishing someday in the future.
My secret dream was also to become an Egyptologist...but as long as I make it to the pyramids as a tourist someday, I'll be happy

i wanted to be a hermit that lived in a cabin in the woods. i could flyfish whenever i want and go out on the lake with my trusty canoe. unfortunately you cannot be a hermit and have a porsche and a killer computer and a hot girlfriend. so i am in school now but dont know what i want to do. if i could win the lottery though i would become that hermit with the porsche.
